Advance Entertainment Ltd. has carved out a niche for itself in producing quality product. In the last 8 years, the organization has put on air four Hindi shows on various channels and three regional language shows. Three more shows have been approved and are awaiting telecast dates from the channels.
Shows telecast: A sitcom about a
widower, who is trying his best to bring up his three teenage daughters with the
help of his sister from Bilaspur. While traditional Bilaspur values propagated
that girls should oil their hair and wear shapeless clothes, modern cosmopolitan
values demanded parties, boys and fun. The tussle between the two was treated in
a funny manner but with an underlying thread of caring and warmth touched the
hearts of young and old. First telecast in 1999, the show has been rerun on
prime time, and in its third rerun enjoyed top rating on its channel of telecast. A daily soap
about a girl who fights for what her values and what she believes is right, and
her ultimate realization of self. Through a loveless, unconsummated marriage
Shivani discovers that life is about giving and she spends her energies fighting
for those who cannot fight for themselves. How Shivani finally becomes the
person who re-unites her own husband with his true love and in doing so
discovers her own self is the story of AAN. The two masters
of comedy came together after 12 years – Aanand Mahendroo and Shekhar Suman – to
create a rib-tickling comedy about a dysfunctional individual in a normal happy
family. The story revolves around a pair of twins, Rajesh a crabby but lovable
man and the Ramesh a cool, collected and very together person. The biggest bane
of Rajesh’s life is that though he is older than Ramesh by a full 5 minutes,
everyone seems to give Ramesh more importance than him. He spends his life in a
game of one-upmanship with his own brother and invariably falls flat on his
face. The beautiful thing about the story is that the character remains lovable
and the audience always empathises with him. Telecast in 2003, the show in its
second telecast on prime time is within the top three programs on the channel of
telecast. The story is a
bold one of a man who fell in love with a woman, but married her sister because
of circumstances. In his waning years, a heart attack brings focus back into the
man’s life and he decides that he does not want to die without acknowledging his
true love and his daughter. How the announcement sends the entire family into
disarray and how the girl brings the family and the business together is the
story of Agnipareeksha. A daily sitcom in
Marathi, Arrechya Kamaal Aahe centres around the lives and eccentricities of the
various members of a joint family. They have their fights, their egos, their
slyness but they all love one another. The sitcom has a big star cast and
embodies all the family values that have been the trademark of any show produced
by Advance Entertainment Ltd. A daily soap in
Gujerati, the story is a powerful one of a rich tycoon who realizes that his
entire family is around him only because he is a wealthy man. He decides to
leave his home and go and live with his childhood friend to try and find true
affection. In the middle class household of his friend, he no doubt finds love
and affection, and decides to show his gratitude by giving his adopted family
riches and a good life. How his wealth once again poisons a happy family leads
us to wonder why we spend so much of our time running after the material… A
powerful and moving story, the show was telecast on ETV-Gujerati.
An extremely
evolved stand up comedy show, Mausi Ka Aangan is different in that it uses a
character not a celebrity as the anchor. Mausi is a middle-aged Punjabi
housewife, who has lived 13 years of her life in Birmingham. With her native
wisdom and caustic tongue, she passes satirical comments at everything and
everybody. No one is safe from Mausi’s sharp wit, be it the neighbourhood
beaten-up wife, or Amitabh Bachchan. The show is scheduled to be telecast on a
leading satellite channel this year. A comedy about a
Nawab in Lucknow, his huge old haveli, his nubile young begum and his several
kids. The series is inspired by Imtiaz Ali Taj’s stories of Chacha Chakkan.
Banne Miyan is bumbling character who manages to get the entire neighborhood
involved in the smallest chore and ultimately ends up messing it up anyway! Shot
in authentic locations, the show is scheduled for telecast on a satellite
channel in this year. VANSH An inspiring
story of a woman who decides to take on the patriarchal society that places so
much importance on a woman bearing her husband’s heir and fights back. She
marries the man who has thrown her own sister out for being barren and then
avenges her sister’s humiliation by refusing to bear his child, even though it
is medically proven that she can be a mother. A daily soap, the serial is
scheduled for telecast in this year. |
